Meet Jes

 Jesse is an artist, art educator and passionate art enthusiast living in a northwest suburb of Houston with her husband and three daughters. Spending her formative years in upstate New York where her family is from, Jesse then moved to Texas in the mid 90s. Receiving a BFA in Mixed Media Sculpture from Texas Tech University in 2005, Jesse went on to obtain her teaching certification and with nearly 20 years of experience teaching art, she has developed a rich and varied studio practice influenced by her daily exposure with her students to diverse materials and techniques. Jesse works fluidly across oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, pencils, pastels, ink and more, often combining media to suit the mood or intent of a piece. 

 Jesse’s practice moves between the pursuit of beauty and the expression of emotion, reflecting both aesthetic intention and personal experience. Her work begins with close observation of everyday moments - subtle shifts in light, color, texture and feeling that often go unnoticed. Her interest is in how these exquisite fleeting details can be captured, combined with emotion, and translated into something lasting through various art media.
